1. Classic Mango Smoothie Recipe

The yogurt-based Mango smoothie is akin to Mango Lassi. It’s creamy and rich due to the yogurt. I add ground cinnamon powder in this recipe, but you can add ground cardamom or vanilla extract for extra flavor.

I add honey as a sweetener to the mango smoothie made from yogurt-based. Some improved/better alternatives for sweetener are unrefined sugar, jaggery or palm jaggery, maple syrup, or coconut sugar. But in case the mangoes are sweet then do not add any sweetener.

  1. To start, wash and skin 2 small to medium-sized alphonso or kesar mangoes. Chop the mango pulp into small cubes. You will require 1.5 cups of chopped alphonso mangoes cubes altogether. Add the chopped cubes to a mixer jar or blender.

2. Add 1 cup of fresh curd (yogurt). Also add 3 tablespoons honey or if needed, as mentioned above.

3. Sprinkle ⅛ teaspoon of ground cinnamon powder, roughly 2 or 3 pinches, into the blender jar.

4. Blend to a smooth consistency.

Pour each of the mango smoothies into a tall glass. You may even chill the smoothie in the fridge for several hours and then serve later. But I personally do recommend you consume within the same day that it’s prepared.

2. Mango Oats Smoothie

This is a very healthy beverage and a 3 ingredient recipe using oats, mangoes and water.

You can have the smoothie as it is in a glass, or you can make a smoothie bowl and add your favorite fruits, nuts and seeds on top. The recipe makes one and you can easily scale up the proportions.

I have not included any sweetener in the smoothie. You can add 1 or 2 tablespoons of your choice of sweetener if you wish.

  1. To prepare the healthy mango smoothie with oats, you need to soak ⅓ cup of quick cooking oats or rolled oats in ½ to ¾ cup of water. Stir well. Cover the bowl and refrigerate overnight.

  1. Blend until smooth. This smoothie is quite thick: If you like a little medium or thinner consistency, you can add some additional water or preferred nut milk choice while blending.

Begin with only ¼ cup of your preferred liquid, splashing in a little more as you blend until the thickness you want is achieved.

5. Pour in a glass or bowl. Top with chopped dry fruits, seeds, or fresh berries. For some crunch I like to sprinkle on a tablespoon of chia seeds.

Serve the mango oats smoothie as-is, or chill for at least 30 minutes to a few hours in the fridge before enjoying.
